How was the Destiny Program born?
Let’s face it, one of the hardest things for young Latinos who come from immigrant families is understanding the American education system.
They must be advised a lot to understand it and know how it works, even more so when it comes to opting for scholarships, and management of university studies.
At the Business & Community Networker Foundation we want to open the doors of the future to these young people, so that they are the first in their family to go to college.
Because if we help them change their lives, the chances of success for these young people will increase.
This is how the program was born:
What is the objective of the Destiny Program?
Guide and accompany young Latinos to achieve a scholarship. We focus on those young people with entrepreneurial will and leadership spirit, who are the first in their family to go to college and who also do not have the necessary resources.
This means we will become a bridge between young people in the Latino community, institutions of higher learning and universities.
Because promoting the dream of this Latino generation, who want to expand their opportunities and change their lives, is part of our purpose as a foundation.
What is the Destiny Program like?
In order for young people to start the program, they must have completed the Introductory Road Map program, the Lighthouse program and the Exploring program.
Once the young people, thanks to all the previous work done, are clear about what they want to study, according to their talents and after doing their work practices, we accompany and guide them in their university search.
Community Networker will be responsible, thanks to the relationships it has, for connecting young people with the college or university, where they can make the most of their skills.
Each young person must take care of collecting the requirements and have the required academic average, according to the university of their preference.
With the help of this program, we want to motivate and encourage the preparation of young people and help them improve their opportunities for the future.
